Chris Harris from YouTube's DRIVE channel had the chance to test drive the McLaren P1 at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

He got behind the wheel of a pre-production XP7 prototype of the P1 and received technical details from McLaren's chief test driver Chris Goodwin who explained some of the important features the supercar benefits from. Interestingly, Harris says that in a straight line the P1 feels much faster than the Bugatti Veyron while at the same leaving the sensation that it's agile and light.

He also mentions there isn't a car like this out there and it's in a different league compared to the Porsche 918 Spyder which he drove back in May last year. The McLaren is set on to take the Nürburgring crown form the 918 as the P1 is rumored to do a lap of the Nordschleife in "six minutes and 30 something" whereas the range-topping supercar from Stuttgart did the lap in six minutes and 57 seconds.

McLaren has already sold all 375 units of the P1, with each carrying a starting price of 866,000 GBP.
