Hyundai's upcoming ix25 compact crossover has been spied once again while conducting winter testing.

The ix25 won't stray away at all in terms of styling compared to other Hyundai models but it will adopt a slightly more angular design with an upward sweeping beltline and an almost flat roofline. The model will be positioned underneath the ix35 and its almost boxy shape reminds us of the Kia Soul.

It will ride on the same platform as the second generation i20 and is going to be manufactured in China by the Beijing Hyundai joint venture. Engine lineup will likely be taken from the aforementioned i20 hatchback and will include frugal and small gasoline and diesel units.

According to our sources, Hyundai will showcase its new crossover offering at the Beijing Moto Show in April and will start selling the ix25 in the second half of the year.
