Designed to compete in the VLN Endurance Championship, the M235i Racing is billed as an entry-level race car for newcomers and professionals alike.

Based on the road-going M235i, the race car has been equipped with an aerodynamic body kit, a sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels. The model also has an FIA-certified safety cell, a mechanical limited-slip rear differential and a high-performance braking system. Other highlights include Recaro Pro Racer SPG seats and a Schroth six-point racing harness.

Power is provided by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that develops 333 HP (245 kW) and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque. BMW has remained coy on additional performance specifications but the less powerful M235i accelerates from 0-100 km/h in five seconds and has a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
