Right from the start we notice the AMG GT (name not final) will have four central air vents and a controversial free-standing touchscreen display which some may argue it looks a bit like an afterthought. There's also a fresh new flat-bottomed steering wheel wrapped around in Alcantara and leather combined with metallic accents.

Behind the steering wheel are shift paddles while the speedometer goes all the way up to 220 mph (354 km/h). On the central column there are several buttons for selecting the driving mode, a start/stop button, the electronic parking brake button and the usual climate controls.

Power will probably be provided by a newly developed V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine rated anywhere between 485 HP (357 kW) and 550 HP (404 kW) which will also find its way under the hood of the next-gen C63 AMG. Details about the car's exact launch date haven't been released by Mercedes-Benz but it is believed the AMG GT / SLC will be shown on July 20th during the 2014 German Formula 1 Grand Prix.
