A prototype of the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake was spied up close by our photographers, showing once again it will look essentially like a downsized CLS Shooting Brake.

The CLA Shooting Brake will be the fourth body style of the A-Class lineup after the hatchback, sedan (CLA) and the crossover (GLA). It will use the same engines and its styling will greatly mimic its larger sibling, the CLS Shooting Brake. Just like we saw in previous spy photos, the boot seems to be quite narrow so putting in bulky cargo could be a problem.

Since the other three versions received an AMG version, it's safe to say there will be a CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake fitted with a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine rated at 360 HP (265 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) delivered to a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

An official reveal could occur in March at the Geneva Motor Show or in October during the Paris show.
