Cadillac's Senior Vice President has revealed some new details about the company future lineup.

Speaking to Edmunds, Robert Ferguson said he "would love to have a diesel engine for all of our Cadillacs this decade." He went on to say diesel engines would increase sales in Europe and help meet fuel economy standards in the United States.

When pushed for more details, Ferguson said a diesel engine would be a great fit for the Escalade as it "is a great selling vehicle and it is a big profit machine for us, so the more markets we can get into, the better."

The executive went on say it would "be silly not to" offer an entry-level crossover that would compete with the Audi Q3 and Mercedes GLA. Ferguson declined to go into specifics but hinted he would love to have a luxurious crossover that is roughly the same size as the Buick Encore.
