Smart is launching yet another special edition for the aging ForTwo, this time with the "CityBeam" nameplate.

The current generation of the ForTwo will finally get a long-awaited replacement later this year but Daimler considers there's still room for another special edition for the outgoing model. Debuting today at 2014 Brussels Motor Show, the ForTwo CityBeam coupe and cabrio comes with a silver tridion safety cell and a choice of light blue, matte anthracite or silver metallic for the body panels.

It rides on 15-inch double three-spoke alloy wheels shod in 175/55 R15 front and 195/50 R15 rear tires and comes with other enhancements such as titanium-colored headlights, LED DRLs and the edition logo plastered on the mirror triangles. Inside there's black leather upholstery with crystal gray fabric inserts and stitching, as well as a three-spoke sports steering wheel with shift paddles and bespoke floor mats.

Based on the passion trim, the 2014 Smart ForTwo CityBeam can be had with an inline 3-cylinder 1.0-liter engine offered with 71 HP (52 kW) in the naturally-aspirated configuration and with 84 HP (62 kW) when turbocharged. The model can also be purchased with a 75 HP (55 kW) electric motor.

Pricing starts at 14,490 EUR for the coupe with the naturally-aspirated engine and goes all the way up to 22,951 for the EV cabrio model which will also cost an extra 65 EUR per month for renting the battery pack.
