The extra-long wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S-Class was caught on camera in Stuttgart, ahead of this year's launch.

It will reportedly be stretched by 200mm compared to the current long wheelbase S-Class which has a 5246mm length so the new model will be almost 5.5 meters long. It will retain the 2+2 seating layout and will come with the third side window positioned after the rear door.

Auto Motor und Sport is reporting the vehicle will adopt the S600 Maybach nameplate with power coming from a V12 5.5-liter delivering 585 HP (430 kW). The same source mentions Mercedes-Benz plans to showcase the car in November at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China.

The Maybach version will soon be followed by an even longer Pullman variant which is said to be almost six meters long.
