Sector111 and Palatov Motorsport have announced plans to create a lightweight sports car for the United States.

Details are limited but the car - codenamed Project Dragon - will be based on the Palatov D2 and weigh approximately 1800 lbs (816 kg).

The model is currently undergoing testing and is slated to use a GM-sourced V8 engine that develops 430 bhp (320 kW) and 424 lb-ft (574 Nm) of torque. It will be connected to a Porsche-sourced six-speed manual transmission which should ensure the model is an absolute rocket.

If everything goes according to plan, the car will be launched next fall and cost approximately $90,000 (€65,600 / £54,940).
