The more powerful Opel Cascada Turbo is now effectively on sale and can be had in Germany at a starting price of 29,490 EUR.

Opel's range-topping Cascada made its debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show and now it has reached German dealerships with its newly developed 1.6-liter ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo engine. The motor is capable of developing 200 HP (147 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque which is enough to grant the mid-size convertible with a top speed of 146 mph (235 km/h).

It will need 9.2 seconds in fifth gear to get from 50 mph (80 km/h) to 75 mph (120 km/h) and will have a fuel consumption of 6.7 liters / 100 km (35.1 mpg US or 42.1 mpg UK) with corresponding CO2 emissions of 158 g/km.

Aside from receiving a more powerful engine, the Cascada has gained two additional exterior paint schemes called pearlescent Emerald Green lacquer and double-layer metallic Magnetic Silver. Moreover, the soft top can now be ordered in light Khaki Grey while inside the cabin it can receive a new generation of the firm's IntelliLink infotainment system which comes with a seven-inch high-res touchscreen display and an optional rearview camera.
