Ford has released the first pictures of the 2015 Mustang Convertible.
Looking virtually identical to the coupe, the convertible has a new multilayer cloth top that promises to give the car a more upscale appearance. Besides looking better, the top has additional insulation which should result in a quieter cabin. Ford also says the top lowers twice as fast as before and has a sleeker profile when retracted.
Like the coupe, the convertible will be offered with three different engines. The entry-level 3.7-liter V6 will produce at least 300 bhp (223 kW) and 270 lb-ft (365 Nm) of torque, while the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder will develop more than 305 bhp (227 kW) and 300 lb-ft (406 Nm) of torque. Lastly, the range-topping Mustang GT will have a 5.0-liter V8 that churns out more than 420 bhp (313 kW) and 390 lb-ft (528 Nm) of torque.
