Volkswagen has announced plans to bring the Touareg X to the United States.
Designed to celebrate the model's 10th anniversary, the Touareg X is based on the Touareg TDI Clean Diesel Lux and features a Moonlight Blue Pearl exterior with 19-inch Moab-style alloy wheels.
The cabin comes nicely equipped with Vienna leather seats, a black headliner and engineered ebony wood trim. There's also piano black accents, illuminated sill plates and faux aluminum pedal covers. Besides the special touches, the model comes packed with standard equipment including a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and GPS navigation.
Power is provided by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine that develops 240 bhp (179 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
Only 1,000 units will be available in the United States and pricing starts at $56,170.
