A couple of months ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany we saw Mercedes-Benz's strikingly gorgeous S-Class Coupe concept and according to the company's design chief Jan Kaul, that car was "very close to the production version." Seen here is a prototype wearing a bit less camo which appears to have a sleeker appearance than the sedan thanks to the sloping roofline, while the back hosts a dual exhaust arrangement and horizontal taillights.

Expect the engine lineup to be carried over from the sedan variants of the new S-Class, including the AMG V8 twin-turbo 5.5-liter which will power the S63 AMG Coupe. At this point there are no details about the possibility of seeing an S65 AMG Coupe with the mighty 630 HP V12.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe has already been confirmed for a 2014 launch.
