Strakka Racing and DOME have teamed up to create a new "cost-capped" LMP2 prototype for endurance racing.

Dubbed the Strakka DOME S103, the model is slated to compete in the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship.

Specifications were not released, but the companies confirmed the model will be powered by a Nissan-sourced 4.5-liter V8 LMP2 petrol engine. Strakka Racing also said the S103 will be "one of the most aerodynamically and advanced LMP2 cars on the grid"

According to Strakka Racing Team Manager Dan Walmsley, “Our new partnership with DOME signals an exciting new chapter in the history of Strakka Racing and reinforces our commitment to sportscar racing."

His sentiments were echoed by DOME President Hiroshi Fushida who remarked "Strakka Racing’s results at Le Mans and performances in both the Le Mans Series and World Endurance Championship racing have impressed us, and our joint sportscar racing expertise will enable us to maximize the car’s full potential. We are confident the Strakka DOME S103 will become a very competitive and desirable cost-capped LMP2 race car."
