Nissan has uploaded on its official YouTube account an extensive clip explaining the development of the Nismo-tuned GT-R.

About a week ago Nissan finally revealed the highly anticipated GT-R Nismo at the Tokyo Motor Show. The company's crown jewel comes with a wide array of upgrades, culminating with the V6 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine which now is capable of unleashing 600 HP (441 kW) and 481 lb-ft (652 Nm) of torque. The additional power was possible after Nismo's engineers mounted bigger turbos, tweaked the fuel pump combustion and optimized the ignition timing for all six cylinders.

The front double wishbone suspension now features new links while the subtle aero kit is complemented by six-spoke black alloy wheels derived from Nissan's GT500 racecar. Moreover, the Nismo-flavored GT-R comes with unique Bilstein dampers, new springs, hollow rear anti-roll bar and bespoke Dunlop tires.

The 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo was able to lap the Nordschleife in 7:08.679 which makes it the quickest volume production car in the word around the 'Ring. It should be noted the vehicle wasn't in stock configuration as it had some "track options" fitted.

Sales are going to commence next February in Japan, followed several months later by Europe and United States.
