The limited-run Volkswagen Polo R WRC Street has received a massive power boost from B&B.

Created to celebrate Volkswagen's comeback in WRC, the special edition Polo R WRC Street comes in standard guise with 217 bhp (162 kW) and 349 Nm (258 lb-ft) from its 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine. It's an impressive output for such a small car but B&B thought it would be better to squeeze even more power from the pocket rocket.

We won't bore you with the lower-spec stages offered by the tuner because the main interest is the stage 3 kit available for 7,950 EUR which bumps output to 362 bhp (270 kW) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft). The significant power hike was obtained after installing a bespoke high-pressure fuel pump, modifying the air suction system and mounting a custom sports exhaust system. In addition, B&B had to install a high-performance charging air cooler, a different oil cooling system and various engine managements.

Thanks to the numerous upgrades, B&B's Polo R WRC Street can now hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 5.2 seconds, making it 1.2s quicker than the stock version. 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) is achieved in 17.1 seconds whereas the regular model needs 24.2s. In addition, the top speed has increased from 151 mph (243 km/h) to 168 mph (270 km/h).

Aside from power gains, the German little monster can receive a coilover kit, sports springs, stabilizers and a high-performance braking system with four- or six-piston calipers. As a final touch, B&B has installed lightweight 18-inch alloys wrapped around in 225/35 R18 tires.
