We have received a fresh batch of spy photos with a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class prototype wearing less camouflage.

Mercedes-Benz has already revealed the interior cabin of the new C-Class and these latest spy photos provide a clearer image regarding what to expect in terms of exterior design for what appears to be a mini S-Class. You will notice there are two prototypes featuring different alloy wheels and rear bumpers, while one of the cars has a chromed window line.

The car is expected to feature a 2850mm wheelbase and to be about 80 kg (176 lbs) lighter than the outgoing model. It will be powered by a variety of four-, six- and eight-cylinder engines, culminating with a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine expected to have somewhere in the region of 500 HP (367 kW). Power will be sent to the rear wheels as standard but 4MATIC will be optionally available. Gearbox choices will probably include a standard 6-speed manual and an optional 9G-TRONIC automatic.
