If you can't hold out until Mercedes launches a new S Guard, you're in luck as Transeco has introduced a new armoring program for the Mercedes S-Class.

Designed to appeal to business owners and heads of state, the Transeco S500L offers a ballistic protection level of 7. This means the car can stand up to everything from a .357 Magnum to an M16 pelleting it with 5.56 x 45mm rounds.

In order to keep occupants safe, the car has been equipped with laminated glass windows, armored pillars and underbody protection. There's also a self-sealing fuel tank and armored boxes that protect the battery and other key electrical components.

Other highlights include high-performance brakes, an upgraded suspension and run-flat tires that can be driven for 50 km (31 miles) at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph) after being punctured.
