The new styling language in the works at Volkswagen will retain some of the current features, like the connection between the front grille and headlights but this theme will evolve. The same source said the Golf Sportsvan concept is a preview of what to expect from Volkswagen's styling department and he mentioned the production version which is due in 2014 will not receive the Golf Plus or Sportsvan moniker.

All future VW models will have the ends of the front grille folding back to meet the headlights, as seen on the aforementioned Golf Sportsvan concept. Compared to the standard Golf VII, the Sportsvan is 83mm longer and offers an impressive total cargo capacity of more than 1,500 liters while the rear bench has a 180mm fore-aft adjustment.

The Volkswagen Golf Plus successor will probably be unveiled in production form next March at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
