Porsche recently unveiled a facelifted Panamera but that hasn't stopped the company from working on the next-generation model.

Caught undergoing testing on the Nürburgring, the 2016 Panamera mules are conducting chassis tests to ensure the new platform is up to snuff.

Little is known about the redesigned model but it is expected to have a more attractive appearance that is heavily influenced by the Panamera Sport Turismo concept. The car is also slated to ride on the new MSB platform (modular standard architecture) that will be shared Bentley and possibly Lamborghini. Thanks to its steel and aluminum construction, the platform could enable the Panamera to weigh 200 lbs (91 kg) less than its predecessor.
