Porsche has released new video footage with the 2014 Macan while tackling the sand dunes of Dubai.

About a week ago a WCF reader sent us a couple of spy photos with a Macan prototype in Dubai and some of you wondered why Porsche is testing the baby Cayenne in the Middle East. Now we have an answer as the Stuttgart-based company recorded a promotional clip for the Macan ahead of the car's public debut scheduled for next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Just like before, Porsche is showing us virtually undisguised prototypes of the Macan which reveal the car's entire design, except for the headlights and taillights that are hiding their configuration under faux stickers. With this video Porsche wants to prove the Macan will have true off-road capabilities as sand dunes and temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius are considered by the company to be "ideal conditions to rigorously test" the new model.
