Caught undergoing testing in the United States, the model is heavily camouflaged but will undoubtedly echo its hardtop counterpart. This means we can expect an aggressive front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by slender headlights. Further back, there's muscular rear fenders and a dual exhaust system.

The cabin has an evolutionary design but features higher quality materials, revised switchgear and metallic trim. Notable highlights include a three-spoke steering wheel, toggle switches and a MyFord Touch infotainment system.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but a survey suggested the model could be equipped with a 3.8-liter V6 with 300 bhp (224 kW) and 290 lb-ft (393 Nm) of torque, a 2.4-liter GTDI four-cylinder with 310 bhp (231 kW) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque and a 4.9-liter V8 with 430 bhp (321 kW) and 396 lb-ft (536 Nm) of torque. However, it's believed the model will actually be launched with a 3.7-liter V6 with 305 bhp (227 kW) and a 5.0-liter V8 that develops 420 bhp (313 kW). The engines could be upgraded shortly after launch and could eventually be joined by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder that develops 310 bhp (231 kW).
