Set to become probably the fastest car in the world to lap the Nürburgring, the McLaren P1 has finally reached production phase which gives us the chance to take a closer look at one of the first units ever made. YouTube user Shmee150 had the opportunity to record a couple of lengthy videos with the P1 which has allegedly lapped the ‘Ring in just 6m 47s.

Only 375 units of the P1 will ever be made, and the one in these videos was filmed in UK after receiving a paint protection film. The carbon fiber-wrapped McLaren P1 is a worthy F1 successor as it will do 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds while the 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) sprint will take 6.8 seconds. In just 16.5 seconds the speedometer will hit 186 mph (300 km/h) before topping at an electronically-capped top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h).
