BMW has released the first teaser for the 2014 2-Series Coupe which will be fully revealed on October 25.

It was only yesterday when BMW said there won't be a 1-Series Coupe and Convertible for the 2014 model year and now they are showing an initial trailer for the first-ever 2-Series Coupe which based on a report from several months ago is scheduled to enter production in November and go on sale in March 2014.

The range is expected to include 218i, 225i and 220d versions which will be joined later on by the M235i. There will also be a flagship M2 version due in 2015 with a rumored price tag of around 45,000 GBP (about 72,720 USD or 53,200 EUR).

The M235i and M2 will be powered by a 6-cylinder 3.0-liter turbocharged engine outputting 320 HP (235 kW) in the former and at least 350 HP (257 kW) in the latter. The M2 should need just around 4.6 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill, while the M235i will be 0.3 seconds slower.

The BMW 2-Series family will get a rear-wheel drive layout as standard but select models will be available in the xDrive all-wheel drive flavor. Besides the coupe and convertible, the 2-Series will probably gain a third body style in the form of a GranCoupe version, following the footsteps of the 6-Series and the upcoming 4-Series.
