The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 has managed to lap the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 37.47 seconds.

While the time might not impressive everyone, let's not forget the Camaro Z/28 is still a rear-wheel drive car with a simple six-speed manual gearbox, and even so has outpaced the Audi R8 V10, Porsche 911 Carrera S (991) and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. We should also take into account there was some rain falling on the circuit during the attempt which might have slowed down the car.

As far as technical specifications are concerned, the Camaro Z/28 is powered by a V8 7.0-liter LS7 engine outputting 500 bhp (373 kW) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. It weighs 300 lbs (136 kg) less than the ZL1 and comes with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes. It also has a limited-slip differential and a track-tuned suspension with adjustable spool-valve dampers and stiffer springs.

Exact pricing details are not known at this moment, but Chevrolet said the car will cost somewhere in the region of 56,000 USD.
