Ford raised a few eyebrows when they pulled some of their support for NHRA drag racing earlier this year but the company has just confirmed plans to continue their Cobra Jet program following the introduction of the 2015 Mustang.

Speaking to Hot Rod Magazine, a Ford spokesperson confirmed they are currently working on the 2015 Cobra Jet. However the spokesperson declined to say whether or not it is based on the 2015 Mustang.

Regardless, Ford Racing Drag Racing Parts and Competition Manager Jesse Kershaw said “Our goals remain the same for next year as they are every year, produce a competitive product at a price that is a value for the racer. We want to ensure this program is here to stay.”
