According to Car & Driver's sources, only one more MFA variant is in the pipeline and it is the CLA Shooting Brake. Set to go on sale sometime next year, the CLA Shooting Brake will be a stylish wagon that borrows cues from the larger CLS Shooting Brake. Engine options will likely carryover from the standard model, so expect a variety of four-cylinder petrol and diesel units.

The magazine goes on to say the A-Class Cabrio / SLA Roadster was shelved because executives thought it was better to invest in a product with higher profit margins and a more upscale image. The executives declined to confirm which model got preferential treatment but the magazine says it is the S-Class Cabrio which is due in 2015.
