The highly anticipated Lamborghini Cabrera has been caught on a number of occassions but we have always been limited to static photographs. We now have the very first video of the model showing the Italian automaker's latest creation in action at the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife.
The Gallardo successor will use the same platform as the Audi R8 and will make use of its naturally-aspirated V10 5.2-liter engine albeit slightly upgraded. Reports suggest output will be in the region of 600 bhp (447 kW) and it will be linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The extensive use of lightweight materials including carbon fiber and fiberglass will give the Cabrera a kerb weight of roughly 1,500 kg (3,306 lbs). This should give the supercar a 0-100kph (0-62mph) acceleration time of roughly 3.2 seconds and a top speed in excess of 300kph.
We expect to see the Cabrera Coupe launched sometime in 2015 with the open-top convertible following about a year later.
