An Abarth representative recently dropped a few hints about a high-performance variant of the Fiat 500L.

Abarth's European chief Marco Magnanini told MSN Cars the Fiat in-house tuner will expand its lineup in the near future and chances are the 500L will receive a more powerful derivative. We assume the hotter 500L will make use of the familiar 1.4-liter turbocharged MultiAir engine providing up to 180 HP (132 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque which should make it a worthy and more affordable adversary of the MINI Countryman Cooper S.

Magnanini also suggested the Panda could receive a similar treatment sometime in the future, and he excluded the possibility of launching a dedicated car or preparing an Alfa Romeo model even though they two companies have collaborated in the past.
