Ford is proud to announce production of the EcoBoost engine has reached two million units.

The important production milestone was reached only three years after the EcoBoost engine line was introduced. They are currently making more than 100,000 units every month, a significant increase compared to last year when the average monthly output was of 65,000 motors.

The two millionth EcoBoost engine is a 2.0-liter inside an Escape produced at the company's assembly plant in Louisville, Kentucky. Ford mentions almost 80 percent of its global models will be offered with an EcoBoost engine by the end of 2013. As a reminder, the EcoBoost family comprises a 3-cylinder 1.0-liter, 4-cylinder 1.6 and 2.0 and a larger V6 3.5.
