It gives us a chance to see the more hardcore 458 wearing a different paint scheme with blue and sky blue racing stripes. As you would imagine, that is not camouflage as the car has already been revealed in production guise earlier this month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The white film is to protect the paint against any potential damages while the car is being put through its paces.

The 458 Speciale comes with Ferrari's most powerful V8 naturally aspirated ever made, a 4.5-liter motor developing 605 HP (445 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft). It can complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) task in 3 seconds and will need 1m 23.5s to lap the Fiorano circuit. The latest prancing horse weighs 1,290 kg (2,844 lbs) and has received a high-performance Brembo braking system and specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
