Lamborghini has officially unveiled the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Designed to bring the "fascination of motor racing to the street-legal world," the Squadra Corse is based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo and features a number of race car inspired components including a prominent rear wing, a quick-release engine cover and carbon ceramic brakes.  The supercar also has a variety of carbon fiber and aluminum components which enable the model to weigh 1340 kg (2954 lbs) which is 70 kg (154 lbs) less than the Gallardo LP 560-4.

Interior changes are relatively limited but include an Alcantara-wrapped dashboard, carbon fiber trim and lightweight racing seats.

Like the Gallardo Super Trofeo, the Squadra Corse is powered by a V10 engine that develops 570 HP (419 kW). It is connected to a six-speed e-gear transmission and an all-wheel drive system which enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 10.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).
