Both sedan and wagon versions of the all-new Mazda6 have managed to obtain a five-star rating from Euro NCAP.

Euro NCAP tests have shown the new generation of the Japanese saloon provides a 92 percent adult occupation protection and a 77 percent child occupant protection. The car's safety assist systems scored 81 percent, while pedestrian safety stands at 66 percent which represents one of the best results of this year.

Its Mazda's fourth model to grab all five stars after Euro NCAP implemented the new scoring system in 2009. The other three cars which have five stars in their portfolio are the previous-gen Mazda6, CX-5 and the new Mazda3 sedan and hatchback.
