Abarth has released the first details about the 595 50th Anniversary Edition.
Set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the car celebrates the original 595 that was introduced at the Turin Motor Show in 1963. As a result it has a retro-inspired exterior with matte white paint, handmade graphics and historic Abarth logos. The model has also been equipped with xenon headlights, a sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The sporty styling continues in the cabin as there's two-tone sports seats, red trim and alloy pedals. Other highlights include a flat-bottomed steering wheel, metallic accents and red contrast stitching.
On the performance front, the car is powered by a 1.4-liter T-Jet engine that develops 180 HP (132 kW). There's also Brembo brakes, retuned shock absorbers and a sports exhaust system.
Production will be limited to 299 units and the company will begin accepting orders on September 15th which is exactly 50 years after the presentation of the first 595.
In related news, Abarth announced plans to offer the 695 Maserati Edition with a special "Record Grey" paint job. Only 49 units will be available in this exclusive shade as a tribute to Abarth's birth in 1949.
