Jaguar has announced plans to introduce the C-X17 concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Designed to preview the "innovative future of the Jaguar brand," the C-X17 appears to be a five-door crossover with bulging fenders, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and F-Type inspired taillights. We can also see a sloping roofline and a prominent leaper logo on the back.

Jaguar didn't have much to say about technical specifications but confirmed the concept will ride on a new "highly-advanced modular aluminum architecture." The company also hinted the concept "illustrates the diversity of vehicles that could be produced using this architecture." As we have previously reported, the platform is expected to be called the Premium Lightweight Architecture (PLA) and be used on the company's upcoming entry-level sedan and crossover.

The Jaguar C-X17 concept will be unveiled on September 9th, so stay tuned for full details.
