Rockstar Games has released an official trailer for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V.

The fifth-installment in the award-winning GTA franchise will come out on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 17. Promising to be bigger and better than previous iterations, GTA V will tell the story of "three very different criminals" that go by the name of Michael, Franklin and Trevor who will "plot their own chances of survival and success."

The action will take place in the familiar city of Los Santos which is being described by Rockstar as a "sprawling metropolis full of self-help gurus, starlets and fading celebrities struggling to stay afloat in an era of economic uncertainty and cheap cable TV."

GTA V's multiplayer feature will allow up to 16 players to engage in a wide variety of activities such as bank heists and races. The multiplayer service will be available starting October 1, 2013.

PC and next-gen console versions are probably already in the pipeline for a 2014 release.
