Development work continues on the 2015 Mercedes GLK as our spies have caught another prototype undergoing testing.

Dressed in heavy camouflage, the prototype appears to have a more rounded appearance that echoes the GLA- and M-Class. We can't make out of lot of details but we can see the model will have a two-bar grille, a sloping roofline and a more curvaceous tailgate. The crossover also appears larger than its predecessor so expect a more accommodating cabin and added cargo capacity.

Since the model will be based on the 2014 C-Class, we can expect a number of engine options to carryover. Nothing is official but possible candidates include:

  • A 2.2-liter CDI four-cylinder with outputs of 170 HP (125 kW), 204 HP (150 kW) and 231 HP (170 kW)
  • A 2.0-liter four-cylinder with outputs of 184 HP (135 kW), 211 HP (155 kW) and 252 HP (185 kW)
  • A 3.0-liter V6 with 333 HP (245 kW)
