Cadillac has released footage of the 2014 CTS and CTS VSport tackling the Nürburgring.

During testing, the CTS VSport was able to lap the Nordschleife in 8:14.10 which is almost six seconds faster than the original CTS-V.

Following the test, vehicle dynamics performance engineer Kevin Zelenk said "The new CTS was an absolute riot to drive on the Ring. It’s more athletic and refined and the VSport proved extremely capable."

His sentiments were echoed by CTS executive chief engineer Dave Leone who said “The Nürburgring’s extreme conditions allow us to push cars to the limits of stability, steering, braking, ride and handling. The new CTS models had a lot to live up to considering the nameplate’s history of outstanding performance, and we were not disappointed.”
