Volkswagen has announced plans to show at IAA next month full-electric production versions of the Golf and up!

Available exclusively with four doors, the Volkswagen e-Golf is powered by an electric motor delivering 115 HP (85 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft). The electrified front-wheel drive Golf will need 10.4 seconds to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint, on its way to an electronically-limited top speed of 81 mph (130 km/h). Thanks to a 24.2 kWh battery, the e-Golf has a maximum range of 118 miles (190 km).

The smaller e-up! will also be sold only with four doors, packing a 82 HP (60 kW) electric motor that provides an instant torque of 210 Nm (155 lb-ft). It will do 0-62 mph in 12.4 seconds and a limited top speed of 81 mph. The electrified city car comes with an 18.7 kWh battery that grants a range of 99 miles (160 km).

Volkswagen mentions that filling up the batteries of both cars to an 80 percent level from CCS charging stations (direct current) will take approximately 30 minutes.

Details regarding pricing and availability will be disclosed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
