Mitsubishi has disclosed pricing information for the 2014 U.S.-spec Mirage which begins at 12,995 USD.
According to Mitsubishi, the 2014 Mirage is the most frugal gasoline-powered non-hybrid car sold in United States today, being able to achieve an EPA-rated 37 mpg city / 44 mpg hwy / 40 mpg combined when fitted with the CVT. With the five-speed manual it will do 34 / 42 / 37. This is possible thanks to a low drag coefficient of 0.28 and the firm's Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control variable valve-timing system.
As standard, the 2014 Mirage comes with seven airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, hill start assist (for CVT-equipped models), along with amenities like automatic climate control, auto-off halogen headlights, keyless entry with panic alarm, rear heater floor ducts and piano black center console trim.
For an extra 1,200 USD the ES trim adds one-touch start/stop, Bluetooth, 14-inch alloys, cruise and audio controls on the leather-covered steering wheel, fog lamps and silver accent trim on the inside. There's also a Navigation Package available bringing SD-based navigation and a rear-view camera.
Power comes exclusively from a 3-cylinder, 1.2-liter engine outputting 74 bhp (55 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque.
