Our spy photographers managed to take a few pictures with the interior of the 2014 MINI Cooper, ahead of an official reveal expected for later this year.

This is the first time we get to see MINI's new interior which as previously reported will forgo the current model's center speedometer in favor of a more traditional layout. The speedometer will now sit on the left next to the tachometer, while the central area of the dashboard will be occupied by a generous display with probably touchscreen support.

The air vents, dials and door panel-mounted speakers have received chromed surrounds, just like the small and circular door handles. A similar treatment was applied to the center area of the two-spoke steering wheel. Thanks to these spy photos we also take a look at the car's boot which should be slightly larger than the one of the outgoing version which offers 5.7 cu. ft. (161 liters) with the rear seat up and 24 cu. ft. (679 liters) once you fold them down.
