We could be looking at two design sketches depicting the all-new Mercedes-Benz Viano which will be launched next year.

German blog Mercedes-Benz Passion has obtained these two sketches which they say come directly from Daimler so can be considered as official. Up until now we only saw several spy photos with the new Viano, but now we get a more revealing view of the car’s styling which follows the company’s current design approach.

The new Viano will allegedly be offered with a four-cylinder diesel engine available in three states of output and will be matched to a 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission. The same source is indicating Mercedes-Benz won’t offer the new Viano with six-cylinder engines. There were some talks about potential electric or plug-in hybrid versions but these are currently in "hibernation mode", according to Mercedes-Benz van chief Volker Mornhinweg who added such models lack demand.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz Viano should make its public debut next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
