Polyphony Digital has announced the Goodwood Hill Climb will be included in the sixth installment of the Gran Turismo franchise.

The game will be out just in time for the holidays and will allow players to virtually race on the 1.86 km-long hill climb at Goodwood. In these presentation photos we notice cars such as the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, Zagato TZ3 Stradale and the Ford GT tackling the hill climb.

The current record at Goodwood was established back in 1999 by Nick Heidfeld who drove a Formula One McLaren MP4/13 car and completed the course in 41.6 seconds. Since then, Formula One cars have been banned from doing official timed runs due to safety concerns. However, in 2006 Heikki Kovalainen lapped the course driving a Renault R25 F1 car in less than 40 seconds but the time was not official.

Speaking of hill climbs, we can only hope Polyphony Digital will also include Pikes Peak in Gran Turismo 6.
