The Nürburgring has been chock-full of prototypes and the latest cameo was performed by the 2014 Mercedes GLA 45 AMG.

Looking relatively composed, the crossover tackles the 'Green Hell' with ease thanks to a sport-tuned suspension and a hatchback-like design. Unfortunately there isn't much to see but the model will likely be equipped with an aggressive body kit that includes modified bumpers and revised side skirts.

Like the CLA45 AMG, the crossover will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 360 HP (265 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. It will likely be connected to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission and a performance-oriented 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

Mercedes will likely unveil the GLA at the Frankfurt Motor Show, so the GLA 45 AMG should be introduced sometime next year.
