Suzuki has officially announced plans to offer the Swift 4x4 in the United Kingdom.

Set to go on sale later this month, the five-door hatchback has a 25mm increased ride height which makes it an "ideal choice for customers living in rural areas." The entry-level model closely resembles the standard Swift but the range-topping SZ4 variant has plastic body cladding, skid plates, LED daytime running lights and door mirrors with integrated turn signals.

In the United Kingdom, the model will be offered exclusively with a 1.2-liter petrol engine that develops 93 bhp (69 kW) and 118 Nm (87 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a manual transmission that sends power to a permanent four-wheel drive system.

The entry-level Swift 4x4 will cost £11,516 while the upmarket SZ4 variant retails for £13,116.
