Our friend and colleague Marchettino had the chance to ride shotgun at Imola in a Ferrari FXX fitted with the Evolution package.

Ferrari's FXX experimental prototype received an Evolution package in 2007 which bumped output of the V12 6262cc by 70 bhp (52 kW) to 860 bhp (641 kW) at 9,500 rpm. It enabled the supercar to perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 2.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 249 mph (400 km/h).

The car weighs only 1,155 kg (2,546 lbs) and changes gears in only 60ms, down by 20ms compared to the non-Evo variant. It rides on bespoke Bridgestone tires and it's 25 percent more aerodynamic than the standard model thanks to a different diffuser and active front spoiler control system.
