BMW has announced the 2014 X5 has a starting price of 53,725 USD (including 925 USD destination charges).
For this money you'll be getting the rear-wheel drive X5 sDrive35i model, followed by its all-wheel drive sibling xDrive35i at 56,025 USD. Both of them are powered by a TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine producing 300 bhp (224 kW) at 5,800 rpm and 300 lb-ft (406 Nm) between 1,200 and 5,000 rpm.
For 57,525 USD you can order the xDrive35d which has an inline-six TwinPower Turbo diesel engine rated at 255 bhp (190 kW) and 413 lb-ft (559 Nm) of torque between 1,500 and 3,000 rpm. There's also the xDrive50i available from 69,125 USD with its V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo producing 445 bhp (332 kW) and 480 lb-ft (650 Nm) between 5,500 and 6,000 rpm.
Gasoline versions are due in the fourth quarter of the year and will be followed by the diesel model in early 2014.
