Volvo is considering additional Polestar models, following the recent launch of the 2013 S60 Polestar.

The first 50 units of the S60 Polestar will be sold exclusively in Australia where Volvo plans on testing the market for these hotter models. If feedback will be positive, Polestar could become for Volvo what M is for BMW and AMG for Mercedes-Benz.

Future models set to receive the Polestar treatment could be the V40 and XC60. Volvo Cars Australia chief, Matt Braid, told Drive.com.au "at this moment it is a pilot program in Australia for Australia. But we only have to look at the other opportunities with the rest of our range to see there is potential [to expand]."

He expressed his desire for a Polestar lineup expansion but "it is too early to say anything. We will look at what more we can achieve after this pilot program."
