Chevrolet has announced detailed performance specifications for the 2014 Corvette Z51.
During testing, the model was able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds and run the quarter mile in 12 seconds flat. The coupe also pulled 1.03 g on the skid pad and went from 60-0 mph in just 107 feet (32.6 meters). Last but not least, the Z51 lapped Virginia International Raceway’s 4.2 mile (6.7 km) long Grand Course in just 2:51.78 which is nearly seven seconds faster than the Camaro 1LE.
Like the standard model, the Corvette Z51 is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 455 bhp (339 kW) and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque.
The Z51 Performance Package costs $2,800 and includes aerodynamic styling tweaks, an electronic limited-slip differential, a dry-sump oiling system and an upgraded cooling system. The test car was also equipped with Magnetic Ride Control which adds $1,795 to the Corvette's base price of $51,995.
