Rolls-Royce Wraith product manager Philip Harnett has taken the luxurious and elegant coupe for a drive on UK’s country roads.
Basically a Ghost Coupe, Wraith represents Rolls-Royce's fastest and most powerful model ever made thanks to its huge twin-turbo V12 6.6-liter engine producing 624 bhp (465 kW) and 799 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Power is transferred to the ground via an eight-speed automatic gearbox which enables the Wraith to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds and 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds.
Rolls-Royce fitted the Wraith with a clever system called Satellite Aided Transmission which uses GPS data to preselect the correct gear for the type of terrain up ahead.
Wraith has a starting price in Europe of 245,000 EUR, with first deliveries commencing in the final quarter of the year. A convertible version has already been confirmed and will be out in 2014 or 2015.
